Every year, New Hartford Community Connections, Inc. (a volunteer committee) creates a telephone directory for New Hartford, CT which includes not only addresses and phone numbers (list purchased from AT&T), but also helpful information about the town, including school calendars, committees and organizations, events, and maps. This publication also makes sense for our town because the official phone company book is a big, multi-town affair, and in it we’re only a subset of another town.

I design the cover and the interior pages, do the layout and editing for the editorial sections, and design or clean up about half the ads.

Ad sales pay for the production and mailing of the book (it’s mailed free to all New Hartford addresses), and excess funds raised are donated to nonprofit organizations in or serving New Hartford.

We work closely with Goulet Printery in Barkhamsted (860-379-0793). Goulet orders the phone listings from AT&T, and lays out that section of the book, making sure that ads are on or near the same page as the alphabetical listing of the advertiser.
